Flexibility

The lactic acid build up from skiing contributes to muscular fatigue, but lucky yogic stretching helps release this lactic acid from the muscle cells into the bloodstream and therefore prevent muscle soreness or promote faster recovery.

Yoga stretches not only the muscles, but also the joints and connective tissues witch often take on added pressure and stress to compensate. This will lead to wear and tear or even worse take the toll and lead to injuries.

In Yoga the opposing muscle groups are trained together, so flexibility will come faster as the opposing muscle groups work together not against or without each other.

Flexibility alows the body to move through a wider range in motion and therefore deepen and enhance your skiing position. Especially as we develop better skiing skills, angulation of the hips and ankle flexion becomes more involved in getting our skis on edge.
